Privacy Policy for "Context Translator Pro 2"

1. General Information 

This privacy policy explains the nature, scope, and purpose of processing personal data when using the Google Sheets™ add-on "Context Translator Pro 2." Protecting your data is our highest priority.

2. What data does the add-on process? 

The add-on processes data exclusively locally within your browser and your own Google Workspace™ account.

• Spreadsheet Data: The add-on only reads the cells in Google Sheets™ that you actively select and for which you click "Translate".

• API & License Keys: Your DeepL™ API key and your Gumroad license key are encrypted and stored exclusively locally in the "User Properties" of your own Google account.

3. Developer Access 

The developer of this add-on has no access at any time to your spreadsheet data, your translated texts, your DeepL™ API key, or your Gumroad license key. There are no hidden databases or background servers belonging to the developer where your data is stored or transmitted.

4. Data sharing with Third-Party Services 

For the add-on to function properly, it communicates directly with two external services:

• DeepL™ (Translation): The texts you select, as well as your DeepL™ API key, are sent via a secure connection (HTTPS) directly to the DeepL™ API (DeepL SE, Cologne, Germany) to retrieve the translation. You can find more information in DeepL's™privacy policy: https://www.deepl.com/privacy

• Gumroad (License Verification): To validate your purchase, the add-on sends the license key you entered to the Gumroad API (Gumroad, Inc., San Francisco, USA). No spreadsheet data or personal information is transmitted during this process. Gumroad privacy policy: https://gumroad.com/privacy

5. Required Google Permissions (OAuth Scopes) 

The add-on requires the following permissions to function:

• View and manage your spreadsheets: To read the texts you have selected and write the translations into the desired target column.

• Connect to an external service: To communicate with the DeepL™ and Gumroad APIs.

6. Your Rights 

Since we (the developer) do not store any of your personal data on our own servers, we cannot delete any. However, you can delete the locally stored data (API keys) at any time by clearing the input fields in the add-on's settings and saving, or by uninstalling the add-on from your Google Workspace™ account.
